2006 - Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Bharatiya Girls Degree College, Lucknow

This degree college was started with the purpose of providing higher education to girls in and around Lucknow, what is called the Trans Gomati area. The college is affiliated to the Lucknow University and offers degree courses in three streams; Arts, Commerce and Science. SET are lead donors to this college which is a joint initiative with Bharatiya Sanskriti Evam Shiksha Samiti.  Starting from a strength of 50 girls, it has gone to 300.

Besides formal education, the college has been offering opportunities for all round development and exposure to young girls from small towns and villages.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The NSS in this college has very active and dedicated student volunteerswho have been undertaking acitivities in community health and nutrition, environmental protection and promotion in neighbouring slum communities and villages.

Environment Awareness Cell

This Cell was constituted in 2009 and is managed jointly by teachers and students. The Cell organizes exhibitions and seminars for awareness on intriguing local issues of environmental degradation, soil pollution and threats to natural resources.

Center of Women’s Studies

Beyond, education through degrees, the college has been working on empowering women by creating awareness about women as a gendered class and contemporary gender issues of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse and workplace harassment.

Red Ribbon Club

In affiliation with the Lucknow university, the college started a red ribbon club to spread awareness and fight HIV/AIDS. Besides organizing exhibitions and awareness programmes, the club also undertakes counseling of AIDS patients in Lucknow area.

Commerce-Economics Forum (COMECO)

This is an initiative of the college to gain insights into the business world through paper presentatuions, quiz competitions and debates.
